How do I enroll?

What are the course fees?

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes! We offer FREE trial lessons for new students in our Chess and Badminton clubs. For other programs, please contact us to discuss trial options.

What is your refund policy?

  • Full refund if you withdraw before the term starts
  • Pro-rata refund during the first two weeks of term
  • No refunds after the second week of term
  • Exceptions may be made for medical or emergency circumstances

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, we offer flexible payment plans. Please contact our office to arrange a payment schedule that works for your family.

About Chinese School

Does my child need prior Chinese language experience?

No! We welcome students of all backgrounds and language levels. We have classes for complete beginners as well as heritage speakers.

What age groups do you teach?

We offer classes for children aged 5-16, organized by age and proficiency level.

What curriculum do you follow?

We use a combination of standardized Chinese language textbooks and our own specially developed materials that are relevant to British-Chinese children.

Do you teach traditional or simplified Chinese?

We primarily teach simplified Chinese characters, as they are more widely used internationally. However, we can arrange traditional character instruction upon request.

How will learning Chinese benefit my child?

Benefits include:

About Tutoring Centre

What subjects do you offer tutoring for?

We provide tutoring for:
- GCSE: Mathematics, Sciences, English, Humanities, Languages
- A-Level: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Sciences, Economics, Languages
- 11+ Exam preparation
- 13+ Exam preparation

What is your student-to-teacher ratio?

We maintain small group sizes (maximum 6 students) or offer one-to-one tutoring for personalized attention.

How do you assess my child's needs?

We conduct a free initial assessment to understand your child's current level, learning style, and goals. Based on this, we create a personalized learning plan.

How quickly will I see results?

Most students show measurable improvement within 4-6 weeks. However, the pace depends on individual circumstances, current level, and commitment to the program.

About Chess Club

My child has never played chess. Can they join?

Absolutely! We welcome complete beginners. Our Beginners Class is specifically designed for children with no prior chess experience.

How do you determine which class level my child should join?

We conduct a simple skills assessment (free) to evaluate your child's current chess knowledge and place them in the appropriate class.

What is ECF rating?

ECF (English Chess Federation) rating is an official chess rating system used in England. Students can earn ratings by participating in rated tournaments, providing measurable progress and qualification for regional/national competitions.

Do you organize tournaments?

Yes! We organize internal club tournaments and also help students enter ECF-rated tournaments and regional competitions.

What equipment does my child need?

For classes, all equipment is provided. If your child wants to practice at home, we recommend purchasing a basic chess set (£10-20) and registering for a free account on Lichess.org.

About Badminton Club

What equipment is needed?

Students should bring:
- Sports clothing and non-marking shoes
- Water bottle
- Own racket (recommended but not essential for beginners)

Do you provide rackets?

We have a limited number of club rackets available for beginners to use during their first few sessions. We recommend purchasing a suitable racket once your child is committed to continuing.

What is the training structure?

Training includes:
- Warm-up and fitness exercises
- Technical drills (footwork, shots)
- Tactical training
- Match play and practice games

Can my child join if they've never played badminton?

Yes! We have Beginner Classes specifically for students new to badminton.

About Safety & Policies

What are your safeguarding policies?

Child safety is our top priority. All staff undergo DBS checks, we maintain strict safeguarding protocols, and we're registered with Ofsted. View our full Safeguarding Policy for details.

What is your illness/absence policy?

  • Please notify us if your child will be absent
  • Missed lessons due to illness cannot be refunded but may be made up subject to availability
  • If we cancel a session, a full credit or refund will be provided

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we maintain comprehensive public liability insurance and all necessary insurances for our activities.

What COVID-19 measures are in place?

We follow current UK government guidelines. Our protocols are regularly updated to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

About HAF Programme

What is HAF?

HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) is a government-funded program providing free holiday activities and meals for eligible children during school holidays.

Who is eligible?

Children are eligible if they receive benefits-related free school meals. Check with your school or contact us to confirm eligibility.

How do I register for HAF?

Registration opens before each school holiday. Contact us or watch for announcements on our website and social media.

What activities are included?

Activities vary but typically include:
- Cultural activities and crafts
- Sports and physical activities
- Educational workshops
- Creative arts
- Daily nutritious meals
